Get a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan built around your shoulder, your work, and the activities you want back. Integrative Sports and Spine provides shoulder pain treatment in Alhambra, CA for rotator cuff problems, frozen shoulder, bursitis, and shoulder arthritis.

Shoulder pain can make it hard to reach overhead, lift, get dressed, or sleep on your side. The shoulder has the widest range of motion of any joint in the body, and that motion depends on the rotator cuff tendons, the bursa, the joint capsule, and the cartilage all working together. When one of them is irritated or injured, the whole arm can feel it. Pain felt in the shoulder can also start in the neck.
At our Alhambra clinic, each shoulder evaluation starts with your history, a hands-on exam of the shoulder and neck, and a review of any X-ray, ultrasound, or MRI you already have. Your physician looks at which movements bring on the pain and how it affects your work, sleep, and daily tasks. This also helps separate a shoulder joint problem from pain that is referred from the cervical spine.
Our interventional pain physicians in Alhambra evaluate and treat shoulder pain for patients throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Treatment may focus on easing pain, restoring range of motion, and helping you get back to your normal activities. Depending on your diagnosis, your plan may include image-guided injections, physical therapy, or other nonsurgical approaches.
Shoulder pain has many possible sources, and the right treatment depends on which structure is involved. Conditions we evaluate and treat include:
If you have put off care, been told surgery is your only option, or tried injections before without enough relief, you are welcome to come in for a full reassessment.

Not always. Many shoulder problems can be diagnosed from your history, a physical exam, and X-rays. Ultrasound or MRI may be recommended when a rotator cuff tear, labral injury, or more complex problem is suspected. If you already have imaging, bring it to your appointment.

Many partial tears and cases of rotator cuff tendinopathy are first managed without surgery, using physical therapy and, when appropriate, image-guided injections. Large full-thickness tears with significant weakness may need a surgical opinion. Your physician will explain where your shoulder falls and what that means for treatment.

Yes. Irritated nerves or arthritis in the cervical spine can cause pain over the shoulder blade, across the top of the shoulder, or down the arm, sometimes with numbness or tingling. That is why your exam includes the neck as well as the shoulder.

It varies by person and condition. Some patients get relief for weeks, others for several months, and some get little benefit. Because the number of steroid injections into one area is limited, your plan may also include physical therapy or other treatments for longer-term care.

Yes. Tell your physician about every herbal remedy, supplement, tea, and traditional preparation you use. Some can affect bleeding or interact with medications, which may change how a procedure is planned. Sharing the full list helps your care team treat you safely.

If nonsurgical treatment no longer gives meaningful relief, we will talk through your options honestly. For some conditions, such as advanced shoulder arthritis or a large rotator cuff tear, surgery may eventually be the right step. When needed, we can coordinate a referral to an orthopedic surgeon while continuing to help manage your pain.

Good shoulder care starts with knowing which structure is causing your pain. Our Alhambra physicians take the time to find that source, explain it to you, and recommend a treatment that fits your diagnosis and your goals.
